The 40th anniversary London Fashion Week took place on February 16-20, where four Ukrainian designers presented their clothing collections.
Ukrainian brands showed on February 16 as part of the UA in UK Fashion Show, part of the official London Fashion Week schedule. The organization was run by the Ukrainian community in Britain, UA in UK.
This season, the organizers of fashion shows decided to pay more attention to brand diversity, sustainability and environmental protection.
For the first time, a Ukrainian menswear brand was presented at London Fashion Week. It is Andreas Moskin, a dynamic premium brand with creative formal, casual and couture collections. In the collection, the audience could see the brand’s signature elements – a jacket with sharp shoulders, oversized lapels, black deconstructed blazers made of silk and wool, as well as unusual and bold colors.
“We are very happy that we have the opportunity to convey such important messages to the international community through clothing. It is on such large platforms that we tell the world without words that we are free, we are self-sufficient, we continue to create beauty despite the war,” say the founders and designers of the brand Andreas Moskin.
In particular, 3 women’s brands Innna, Sofi Rich and UPSLOWUSE showed their products at London Fashion Week. Women’s clothing brand Sofi Rich has traditionally created exclusive and elegant looks for women. According to the brand’s spokespersons, they design clothes for the woman who chooses to be the queen of her life.
The audience also had the opportunity to appreciate the collection of the INNNA brand, which adheres to the philosophy of “one look for any occasion”. The team assures that a smooth transition from a business meeting to a cocktail bar is possible.
Another participant of the show is Upslowuse, a unique conceptual brand of conscious fashion that promotes the courage to be yourself. The brand tells the story of self-knowledge and self-perception through the language of texture, color and cut. The brand’s clothing is designed to minimize the negative impact on the environment. Upslowuse uses upcycling methods and surplus fabrics of natural composition.
According to the organizers, with this event, they wanted to demonstrate the talent and creativity of young Ukrainian designers who create and develop the Ukrainian fashion industry, despite all the difficulties and pain of war felt by every Ukrainian around the world. The event also served as a reminder to the international community of the second anniversary of the war in Ukraine.
