“American power”: M2 Bradley near Avdiivka withstands enemy ATGM hit (video)
While repelling a Russian attack in the Avdiivka sector, a Ukrainian M2 Bradley withstood a hit from an anti-tank gun.
Footage of the battle was shown from a Russian reconnaissance drone.
The battle took place on the outskirts of the village of Stepove, which is located above the Avdiivka coke plant.
During the battle, the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle was firing at Russian infantry and was unexpectedly hit by an anti-tank missile system.
However, the American armored vehicle remained on the move and immediately left the position on its own.
The Ukrainian military has been quite successful in using M2 Bradley for defense in this area.
The M2 Bradley is the main infantry fighting vehicle that has been in service with the U.S. Army’s mechanized forces since the 1980s. The combat vehicle was named in honor of Omar Bradley, an American general during World War II.
The BMP is designed to provide transportation of motorized infantry units on the battlefield, conducting combat from the vehicle and providing fire support during and after the rush. The M3 Bradley combat reconnaissance vehicle was created on its basis.
The Bradley’s main weapon is the M242 Bushmaster 25-mm automatic cannon. In addition, the BMP is equipped with a twin 7.62 mm M240C machine gun and a TOW ATGM launcher.
