Photos of the downed Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter with the serial number RF-13442 have been posted online. The helicopter was probably hit at the airfield of Berdiansk or Luhansk during the shelling of these airports by ATACMS missiles.

The photo was published by OSINT researcher Necro Mancer The remains of the helicopter were sent to a private museum in Russia, he noted.

The Ka-52 is Russia’s most advanced helicopter and was introduced in 2021. The vehicle is capable of engaging armored and unarmored vehicles, infantry and air targets on the battlefield. It is the world’s only production helicopter with an ejection system.

Unlike previous models of this type of helicopter, the modification received a modernized electro-optical reconnaissance and guidance station GOES-451M, and an onboard communication system BCS-50M. The vehicle was equipped with the SUO-806PM weapon control system with the ability to use new types of weapons, including a guided missile.

The Ka-52 is equipped with a 30-mm 2A42 cannon with 460 rounds of ammunition, a Vihr anti-tank missile system with a laser beam guidance system, and 80-mm caliber blocks. The helicopter can additionally carry R-73 and Igla-V guided air-to-air short-range missiles, as well as unguided air-to-ground missiles.

As a reminder, in mid-October, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the area where Russian helicopters are based and the airfield near the temporarily occupied Berdiansk. The damage was also recorded near Luhansk.

OSINT analysts analyzed satellite images of the airfield in Berdiansk. Probably, 9 helicopters of the occupation forces are beyond repair. Another 4 were damaged. The observers were able to identify the number and type of Russian army aircraft destroyed or damaged. As a result of an ATACMS missile attack on the airfield in Berdiansk, the occupiers lost 9 helicopters. Four Mi-8 and five Ka-52 helicopters were destroyed.

After the attacks on the airports in Luhansk and Berdiansk, the Russians transferred their helicopters to Taganrog. The corresponding satellite images were published by military observer Brady Africk.

“21 Russian helicopters were at the Taganrog airbase when the last satellite image was taken.”, the analyst said in a statement.
