Microsoft is updating Bing Chat by integrating ChatGPT-4 Turbo for free and planning significant improvements to Code Interpreter

Now Bing Chat users can use ChatGPT-4 Turbo model for free with plug-in support (Microsoft Copilot). Microsoft will offer this model to selected testers on a random basis. The Code Interpreter function is also expected to be updated, which will allow better solving complex programming and data analysis tasks.

GPT-4 Turbo is the newest ChatGPT model based on the existing GPT-4. It includes information up to April 2023, which allows for more accurate answers to questions about the latest developments. Access to GPT-4 Turbo in ChatGPT is available only to paid subscribers and is not free except for use via Microsoft Copilot.

Accessing GPT-4 Turbo via Bing Chat is only possible by accident, but Microsoft plans to expand this update in the coming weeks. The process, known as A/B testing, does not favor specific accounts or regions.

To check if you have access to GPT-4 Turbo via Bing Chat, open Bing.com/chat, start a new thread, and view the web page source code. If you find references to dlgpt4t in the source code, it means that you have access to the latest OpenAI model.

Microsoft has also enabled integration with Bing Search by default, but now, thanks to the new plugins tab, you can disable the “search” plugin and disable Bing completely.

If the Search plugin is disabled, Bing Chat does not use the Bing search index to retrieve answers and relies entirely on its trained data. If you ask Bing Chat about events between January and April 2023 and receive a response, it means you already have access to the GPT-4 Turbo model.
