Tests of a domestic analog of the Browning M2 have begun in Ukraine
Ukrainian defense industry has started testing promising domestic machine guns. This follows from the material published by the specialized publication ArmyInform.
A private enterprise took over the development of small arms. It has been designing weapons for the Armed Forces for quite some time. Thus, the company has all the necessary competencies and expertise.
The 14.5-mm machine guns will be used by the Ukrainian army to engage BMPs, armored personnel carriers and other lightly armored targets, infantrymen in light cover and firepower. They will replace the Soviet checkpoints, which are the main armament of the BRDM and APCs of the USSR.
In the future, the company may start producing an infantry modification of the machine gun with a machine tool.
Another machine gun for 12.7 mm cartridge is an analog of the Browning M2. It will replace the Soviet NTV. Thus, the range of weapons produced in Ukraine is gradually expanding.
