Indian 155-mm shells spotted in Ukrainian Defense Forces’ inventory (video)
Ukrainian artillerymen began using Indian 155-mm shells at the front.
Footage of the use of these shells in Ukraine was shown by an analyst of the Ukrainian Front.
A batch of this ammunition was delivered to the crews of Krab self-propelled artillery systems supplied to Ukraine from Poland.
Presumably, these shells were purchased from the Indian defense industry by Ukraine’s allies.
It is worth noting that official India takes a neutral position in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
This strategy of selling through other countries allows India to maintain friendly relations with Russia, while at the same time Ukraine receives ammunition.
These shells were originally manufactured by the Indian company Ordnance Factory Board, now known as the Directorate of Ordnance.
The Indian company’s shells have a distinctive yellow color and red stripes.
The 155 mm HE ERFB BB high-explosive fragmentation artillery shells have a range of 30 kilometers.
Main characteristics from the manufacturer:
- range of fire up to 30 km;
- The weight of the projectile without a fuze is 42-45 kg;
- The length of the projectile is 843 mm.
