Strike on Saki airfield in Crimea: The Ukrainian Armed Forces left the occupiers without a key control point

Local Telegram channels reported that the 43rd Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Russian Air Force, which supports Russian troops in southern Ukraine, is based there.

The Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian command post on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. This was announced on Saturday, January 6, by the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk in Telegram.

According to Oleshchuk, the military airfield “Saki” located in Novofedorivka came under attack.

“Saki airfield! All targets have been shot down!” Unfortunately, our Air Force has been left without another control point in Crimea!” the commander said in a statement.

In addition, the lieutenant general thanked the Ukrainian pilots “for their excellent work.”

“Once again, I thank our pilots for their excellent work! Together to victory!” Oleshchuk emphasized.

The explosions in Crimea on the night of January 6

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that on the night of January 6, explosions occurred on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. Air defense was launched over the peninsula.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced the interception and destruction of four “airborne guided missiles” over Crimea. The Russian defense ministry blamed Ukraine for the attack.

In addition, social media reported at least ten explosions in Yevpatoriya. Explosions also occurred in Saki and Novofedorivka.

The Crimean Wind monitoring Telegram channel reported that the Saki military airfield in Novofedorivka was under attack.

According to the authors of the publication, the 43rd Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Russian Air Force, which supports Russian troops in southern Ukraine, is based in Saki. It is armed with Su-24 bombers and Su-30 fighters.
