“The fastest shoes in the world”: American brand shows robotic footwear (video)
Shift Robotics has announced an updated version of its Moonwalker X robotic shoes with rollers, which allows you to move much faster than usual.
In 2022, Shift Robotics presented the first version of its Moonwalker, which it called “the world’s fastest shoes.” These were special robotic shoe pads with 10 wheels, which allow you to significantly speed up your steps. The company proposed to use its development primarily in the workplace for people who have to walk up to 30 thousand steps every day. For example, warehouse and logistics workers.
The extraordinary “lunar rovers” had a significant drawback – each of them weighed 1.8 kg. The new model has partially overcome this problem – the weight has been reduced to 1.4 kg. This was achieved, in particular, by reducing the number of wheels.
“Moonwalkers X has six wheels instead of 10, provides an order of magnitude more control and responsiveness, has a smaller turning radius, uses softer wheels for less impact, and is also suitable for smaller shoes,” the company says in Shift Robotics.
A new model of robotic shoes from Shift Robotics will be presented next week at CES 2024. Public testing of the new product will also be held there. Moonwalkers X is scheduled to be delivered in the first half of 2024, with a price to be announced later. The original model was sold at a price of $1400 per pair.
