On Monday, January 8, it became known that during a special operation in the Donetsk sector, operators of the 3rd separate regiment of the Special Forces discovered and destroyed a Russian electronic warfare system “Tirada-2.”
An accurate strike on Tirada-2
This complex was designed to neutralize satellite communications. Its activity has been recorded in the occupied territories since 2019.
Using intelligence, the Ukrainian military established the exact coordinates of the complex. The fire damage was caused by a missile unit of the Defense Forces, which led to the complete destruction of the system.
Having determined the coordinates of the enemy target, the SSO operators directed the fire of the missile unit of the Defense Forces at it. The electronic warfare system was completely destroyed as a result of precision fire
– the statement said.
At the same time, the Special Operations Forces published a video showing the elimination of this enemy complex.
The enormous losses of the occupiers
- The General Staff noted on the morning of January 8 that over the past day, aviation struck 4 areas where occupants’ personnel were concentrated.
- At the same time, missile troops hit a control center, 2 ammunition depots and 2 enemy artillery pieces.
- Also, during a successful operation in the Belgorod region on January 6, Ukrainian troops destroyed two Pantsyr-S1 anti-aircraft missile systems.
- “This is a new trend in modern warfare – when expensive systems are under attack by inexpensive, but plentiful and accessible munitions. Even if they manage to fend them off, it is at a high price,” commented military observer David Sharp.
- Most importantly, our defenders managed to eliminate 440 invaders over the past day. In total, 365,179 Russian soldiers have been killed since the beginning of the large-scale war.
