Ford unveiled the f-150 lightning switchgear (photo)
Ford Performance and RTR Vehicles have unveiled a high-performance version of the F-150 designed for maximum off-road capability. The most popular electric pickup truck in the North American car market was used as the basis for the creation of the car with the Lightning Switchgear nameplate.
According to Motor1, the body of the “hardcore” F-150 is made of carbon fiber. The pickup received off-road decorations and Ford Performance 2024 livery. The test results show that the pickup’s suspension is able to withstand jumps with flying colors.
To ensure the vehicle’s off-road stability, the designers increased the width of the wheels. They also improved the suspension travel and ground clearance. The front of the car has a special independent double wishbone suspension. The rear suspension is multi-link. It boasts special control arms, a stabilizer bar and spring dampers. The F-150’s suspension uses 75 mm FOX shock absorbers.
The capacity of the twin-engine unit is 580 liters. (775 Nm). The pickup’s battery pack has a capacity of 131 kWh. The wheels of the F-150 are shod with NITTO Ridge Grappler R18 tires. A special luggage rack is provided for storing two spare wheels.
