Ukrainian Armed Forces withdraw from Zenit position on outskirts of Avdiivka – Tarnavsky
On February 16, the commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, officially confirmed that Ukrainian defenders were withdrawing from the Zenit position on the southeastern outskirts of Avdiivka.
According to him, after many months of confrontation, the command of the JFO decided to withdraw from the Zenit position on the southeastern outskirts of Avdiivka.
We held this position as long as it allowed us to effectively deter and destroy the enemy. The decision to withdraw was made to preserve personnel and improve the operational situation.
Oleksandr Tarnavsky
Commander of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Forces Grouping
Oleksandr Tarnavsky draws attention to the fact that tactically, the occupation of these positions does not give the enemy a strategic advantage and does not change the situation within the Avdiivka defense operation.
According to the commander, troops are currently regrouping, replenishing supplies and equipping units at new positions. We are planning to strengthen our divisions.
Together we are strong. Glory to Ukraine! – Tarnavsky emphasized.
