Historic ship that mysteriously sank 84 years ago found in the US (video)
The Arlington ship, which sank almost 84 years ago, was discovered at the bottom of Lake Superior, at a depth of approximately 198 meters. This was reported by the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society.
The ship was wrecked in May 1940 during a fog and a strong storm.
Due to deteriorating weather conditions, the assistant captain ordered a change of route, but Captain Frederick Burke ordered not to deviate from the course.
As a result, the Arlington collided with the Collingwood, which all crew members managed to swim to, except for Captain Burke. He too could have been saved, but he went down with the ship of his own free will.
