Hackers crack one of the most reliable antiviruses in the world
ESET, a cybersecurity company, has recently patched a critical vulnerability in a number of its antivirus products for the Windows operating system. The bug, which was codenamed CVE-2024-0353 and rated 7.8 on the CVSS scale, is associated with the possibility of local privilege escalation.
The vulnerability was discovered by the Zero Day Initiative (ZDI). The vulnerability aims to exploit file operations performed by ESET products that are performed by the real-time file system protection system. Successful exploitation of the vulnerability allows potential attackers to delete user files without proper authorization.
