Rumors that the Renault 5 E-Tech model will become one of the most technologically advanced representatives of the B-segment have been confirmed – the car really offers many interesting options for a fairly modest price. The car has a range of up to 400 km and a power of 150 hp.

The official presentation of the Renault 5 E-Tech compact electric car took place at the Geneva Motor Show, which will be held from February 26 to March 3. The car has bi-directional charging, smart multimedia, a 52 kWh battery, and a 400 km range.

The compact hatchback has a unique design that is closely related to the original Renault 5 produced in 1972. The car is equipped with a vertical bumper with trapezoidal headlights, square running lights and vertical taillights.

The Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is the first vehicle to be developed entirely on AmpR Small, Ampere’s new platform for B-segment electric vehicles. The Renault 5 measures 3.92 meters in length and 1.5 meters in height. Among the interesting options, the car is equipped with 18-size wheels and has a display on the hood that will show the battery level while charging.

Inside, the car has a steering wheel borrowed from other Renault models, two new related multimedia screens, one of which serves as the main multimedia screen and the other as the instrument panel.

Together with the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, Reno, the official avatar of Renault, makes its debut. It is designed to provide customers with a more pleasant and intuitive experience with an electric vehicle and can respond to user requests.

The screens have a new graphical interface and design to emphasize the modernity of the new Renault 5. The interior is decorated in light colors, and the seats, which are 100% made from recycled materials, have the “5” logo. The trunk volume of this tiny car is quite large – 326 liters.

A unique feature of the new Renault 5 is its battery. It has a capacity of 40 kWh, which provides a range of up to 300 km. Another option will also be available with a capacity of up to 52 kWh, which will allow you to travel up to 400 km. The main innovation is an efficient 11 kWh charger that operates on V2G technology and allows unused electricity to be returned to the grid. This process can help car owners pay less for electricity each month.

The model is equipped with an engine similar to the one used by the Megane E-Tech Electric and Scenic E-Tech Electric, but the engineers managed to reduce its size. The engine will be available with three power ratings: 150, 120 and 95 horsepower. All Renault 5 2024s also have automatic braking and semi-autonomous driving systems. The price of the basic version in Europe starts at 25,000 euros.
