Drone “Lyutyi”, which has become a headache for Russian refineries: details about the “elusive” enemy
Photos of the wreckage of the Ukrainian drone “Lutyi”, which attacked oil refineries, are published in Russia for the first time
Unique photographs from the crash site of the Ukrainian long-range kamikaze drone “Lyutyi” were presented by the Russian side. This drone, which has already carried out more than a dozen successful strikes on Russian oil refineries, demonstrates a new level of Ukrainian innovation in military equipment capable of operating at a distance of up to 1000 km from the border. The main target of these attacks is the enemy’s strategic facilities, which are an important part of the aggressor country’s economy.
According to reports, Russian experts made a mistake in determining the design of the drone, misplacing its wreckage during the demonstration. An important feature of the Lutyi is that the engine is located in the rear of the vehicle instead of the front. This drone is equipped with a 50 kg high-explosive warhead, making it a deadly threat to enemy targets.
Analysis of the drone’s wreckage can provide the enemy with important information about the technical characteristics and guidance system of the “Lutyi”, which forces Ukrainian developers to look for new ways to protect their technology.
So far, Moscow’s response to these attacks appears to be insufficiently prompt, as it has failed to concentrate enough air defense assets around critical facilities. However, this may change over time, so Ukrainian specialists should start developing new tactics to effectively destroy the enemy’s critical infrastructure.
The “Lutyi” series drones currently remain a powerful tool of Ukrainian military power, capable of causing serious damage to Russia’s economy and military potential.
