Denmark becomes the first NATO country to invest in the production of Ukrainian weapons
Denmark will invest in the production of Ukrainian weapons – an agreement has been signed between the defense ministers of the two countries.
Main theses:
- The agreement between Denmark and Ukraine will allow investment in the production of Ukrainian weapons, which is a key step for Ukraine in the development of its military-industrial complex.
- Denmark became the first NATO country to agree on a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of Ukrainian weapons, which demonstrates support and trust in the potential of Ukrainian manufacturers.
- The Ukrainian army will receive Ukrainian weapons at the expense of Denmark, which opens up new opportunities for the development of the country’s defense industry and armed forces.
- Ukraine is actively developing weapons production and cooperating with global leaders in defense production, which contributes to improving defense capabilities and stimulating the country’s economy.
- Ukraine’s military-industrial complex has great potential, but its full development requires support and investment from international partners to help strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
Denmark to invest in Ukrainian arms companies
Within the framework of the 23rd meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in the Ramstein format, Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov met with Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren.
Denmark and Ukraine sign a memorandum on the purchase of weapons and equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers.
This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
This is a big step, as Denmark has become the first foreign NATO country to invest in arms production in Ukraine.

The Netherlands also agreed on cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands to support the Ukrainian defense industry.
Denmark to buy Ukrainian weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The funds provided under the new aid package for Ukraine will be used for this purpose;
This was announced by Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.
This is the first and so far unprecedented decision when military products for the Ukrainian Defense Forces are purchased from Ukrainian manufacturers at the expense of another state.
This decision is extremely important for both the Ukrainian army and the Ukrainian economy. The production capacity of the Ukrainian defense industry far exceeds the purchasing power of the state budget.
The capacity of the Ukrainian defense industry is about $20 billion. At the same time, Ukraine has only $6 billion for arms purchases. Roughly speaking, we have only a third of all the machines in the country in operation because we don’t have enough money to provide orders for the rest.
Weapons production in Ukraine
During the full-scale war with Russia, Ukraine significantly increased its weapons production. We are talking about drones, electronic warfare equipment, ammunition, and more.
Ukraine is also creating joint ventures with partners. For example, Ukraine and the United States have recently agreed to establish a joint venture to repair and maintain American armored vehicles.
Ukraine and the German concern Rheinmetall will also produce Lynx armored vehicles. The first car will be released this year.
In addition, the defense company KNDS will open a 155 mm ammunition production facility in Ukraine.
