A breakthrough in the Ukrainian defense industry: “Bulava” drone, which can withstand “Lancet”, is presented
For the first time in Ukraine, a kamikaze drone called “Bulava” by UAC was presented, which is called an analog of the Russian barrage munition “Lancet”, but it carries more explosives, flies further and automatically detects targets.
The new Ukrainian drone has the export name Mace, but the inscription on its wings says that its original name is Bulava. Externally, it resembles the Russian Lancet and Israeli ZALA, due to its aerodynamic design with X-shaped wings. This design makes the drone more maneuverable, allowing it to hit targets in the least protected areas.
The Bulava kamikaze drone has a total takeoff weight of 11 kg, of which 3.6 kg is accounted for by a powerful combined cumulative-thermobaric warhead. The drone is launched from a catapult and can stay in the air for up to 50 minutes. The electric motor allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h. The wingspan of the UAV is about 1.6 meters, its length is about 1.5 meters, and its range is over 60 km.
The new strike drone can carry out missions both during the day and at night. Machine vision allows you to automatically detect and track a target. In addition to defeating the target selected by the operator, the UAV can attack objects by coordinates.
According to the developers, the Bulava drone is resistant to enemy electronic warfare (EW), detects spoofing (signal replacement), and uses relay technology to increase the range of damage. In addition, UAVs can be combined with reconnaissance drones to form a single swarm.
