China Increases Production of Humanoid Robots
Chinese startup Agibot announced ambitious plans to produce up to 5,000 humanoid robots in 2025. This production volume is comparable to Elon Musk’s goals for Optimus robots production.
Over the past year, Agibot has manufactured about 1,000 humanoid robots. The company intends to increase production to 400 units per month. To achieve this, they plan to open a new production line in the Pudong district.
These humanoid robots are designed to perform hazardous industrial tasks and replace humans in difficult conditions. Additionally, the company is developing bipedal home assistants, with mass production planned to begin within the next 5 years.
According to the startup’s calculations, mass production will allow them to reduce the price of one household robot to 50,000 yuan (less than 7,000 US dollars).
China has significant advantages in this field thanks to its developed supplier network and large number of artificial intelligence specialists.
Startup Agibot, founded in 2023, already has three robot lines: Yuanzheng for industrial use, the wheeled Genie, and the compact Lingxi. The demand for such products continues to grow.
