9 HIMARS and M270: the Secretary of the National Security Council told how many American MLRS are used by the Armed Forces

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security Council, gave an interview to the American publication The Wall Street Journal. He told journalists how many American MLRS are already used by Ukrainian defenders.

According to Danilov, Ukraine has already received 9 rocket launcher systems from the USA and partners. It is about HIMARS. The secretary of the NSDC did not say what other installations we received, but it is most likely the M270. They were promised to be handed over to us by Germany, Norway and Great Britain.

‘Nine HIMARS and similar missile systems donated by the US and its allies are now operating on the territory of Ukraine with deadly consequences for the occupiers’

We will remind you that the M270 MLRS is an American rocket salvo fire system on the tracked base of the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle. It is designed to perform combat tasks of damage and destruction from closed firing positions at a distance of up to 300 km. It can be used at any time of the day and under any weather conditions. Furthermore, it carries up to 12 shells.

HIMARS M142, in turn, is an American multiple rocket launcher system on a wheeled chassis. It is based on the five-ton FMTV wheeled chassis of the US Army. The MLRS can carry six rockets or one ATACMS operational-tactical ballistic missile. The operating range of the HIMARS M142 is from 2 to 500 km (depending on the projectiles).
