A seven-year record number of marriages was registered in Ukraine in the first six months of 2022
A record number of marriages was registered in Ukraine in the first half of 2022 – 103,903, which is 21% more than in the same period of 2021 and an absolute record for the last seven years.
This is evidenced by data from Opendatabot.
In terms of the number of marriages, the front-line Dnipropetrovsk region takes first place – 13,025 marriages in six months. Increasing numbers
new families are observed in all rear regions, except for Chernivtsi. There, since the beginning of the year, the number of marriages has decreased by 11%.
The number of divorces registered in registry offices, according to Opendatabot, has almost halved – by 42%: 7,632 divorces against
13153 of 2021.
However, the number of divorces registered by the registry office does not fully reflect real statistics. Because divorce through the registry office is possible only if the spouses do not have minor children and have a mutual desire to separate. Otherwise, the divorce takes place by court decision.
