Bill Gates predicts ‘five difficult years’ for humanity. One of the reasons is Ukraine
Billionaire Bill Gates, while participating in the Forbes 400 charity summit, predicted “five difficult years” for humanity. One of the reasons for such a pessimistic forecast is the war in Ukraine started by Russia.
“We’ve got five tough years ahead of us because there’s debt because of the pandemic, we’ve got the war in Ukraine, and the economic cycle is changing,” Gates said.
There, the co-founder of Microsoft and co-chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation talked about the charitable organization’s plans for the future.
“We need to try to overcome infectious diseases or all diseases that make the world unequal,” he added.
Gates noted that in the next 25 years, he and his ex-wife plan to spend more and more money for these purposes.
“It’s probably a period of time (25 years – ed) where Melinda and I will be around to help make sure everything goes according to plan. We think it makes sense to spend all the money during this period. Therefore, we will donate more and more, we have committed to raise the level of spending.”
