Ukraine and Romania are resuming train connections – ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’ made the first test run

The route will soon be fully operational

Ukraine and Romania are resuming railway connections on the Rakhiv – Dilove – Valia-Višeului section. “Ukrzaliznytsia” made the first trial run in this direction. This was reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The route will soon be fully operational.

“The opening of railway passenger service on the border between Ukraine and Romania is expected at the beginning of December. A comfortable regional train DPKr-3, built in Ukraine, will ply the route.

The net travel time from Rahov to Romanian Vali-Višeului is about 40 minutes, excluding customs procedures. Border and customs control will be carried out on board the train upon boarding,” said Minister of Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov.

It is noted that “Ukrzaliznytsia” plans to operate two flights a day with the possibility of transferring passengers to trains of the Romanian CFR railway. There are daily trains from Vali-Višeului to Siget, Cluj and Bucharest stations.
