US President Joseph Biden hopes that even if the Republicans win, bipartisan support for aid to Ukraine will continue in 2023, CNS reports. The publication notes that this will most likely be the case, as many influential Republicans criticize Biden for insufficient support for Kyiv.
According to the results of the elections held on November 8, the Republicans may get a slight advantage over the Democrats in the House of Representatives. However, earlier, the majority of Republicans in Congress voted for a $40 billion aid package for Ukraine, with only 57 Republicans against it.
Nearly 50 of them will again represent the Republican Party in Congress. But several Republicans who are running for the post of chairmen of key aid committees are staunch supporters of Ukraine. In particular, Michael McCaul (Texas), who claims to lead the committee on foreign affairs, once again called on the US to arm Ukraine with ‘the right weapons.’

Another Republican in line to chair the key Intelligence Committee is Ohio Republican Mike Turner.
After a recent visit to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Turner said the Republican majority would not stop providing aid to Ukraine.
