The function that accelerates the discharge of the smartphone by five times is called

The DxOMark laboratory has published the results of testing the flagship smartphones of 2022 with the AOD function. As it turned out, mobile devices with support for Always On Display discharge 3-5 times faster than smartphones that do not support this function.

When the AOD function is activated, the time on the smartphone screen will be displayed to the user continuously. In addition to the time, the display will show the date, messages and other important information. In Android devices, the AOD function appeared quite a long time ago. Apple implemented it in its smartphones only in 2022. Only the Pro versions got the AOD function.

The Always on DisplayPro Max version of the iPhone 14 can work for 466 hours on a single battery charge. In case of activation of AOD, the operating time of the smartphone will be reduced to 122 hours. Pixel 7 Pro holds a charge for 367 hours. With the AOD function enabled, the newest flagship from Google will work for no more than 139 hours. Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Galaxy S22 Ultra showed comparable results.

Experts warn that users who use the AOD function on a regular basis risk encountering the problem of matrix burnout.
