Poland withdrew its MiG-29 from one of its air bases
Where will these planes 'fly' next
Poland is preparing to receive new aircraft at its air base
Poland has decided to withdraw its MiG-29 fighters from the 23rd Tactical Air Base – recently a number of reports appeared online that ‘fans of these aircraft’ will no longer see them in Minsk-Mazowiec, where this air base is located.
Along with that, as learned in the Polish publication Defense24, in Poland they decided to redeploy these aircraft to the 22nd tactical air base in Malbork ‘in order to use the potential of combat equipment for solving operational tasks and further aviation training.
This information is reported in the Main Command of the Polish Armed Forces. At the same time, the 23rd tactical air base is being released for other tasks – the priority for it will be ‘execution of contracts for the supply of the FA-50 weapons complex’, so the air base must prepare for the adoption of the new system, namely, to carry out work on the improvement and adaptation of the airport infrastructure.
We will remind that on September 16 of this year, in the presence of the country’s President Andrzej Duda and Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak, a contract for the supply of light Korean FA-50 fighter jets to Poland was signed in Minsk-Mazowiecki.
It is currently known that the first 12 aircraft in the FA-50 Block 10 version should be delivered to Poland in the second half of 2023.
