Bradley, Marder, Gepard and another Patriot battery are going to Ukraine
The day before, the White House disclosed the contents of another package of defense support worth 2.8 billion USD. It included 50 Bradley M2 BMPs.
On January 5, Joseph Biden had a telephone conversation with Olaf Scholz. Later it turned out that the German chancellor promised the American president to transfer to Ukraine Marder BPM, Gepard anti-aircraft guns and one battery of Patriot air defense systems. Another battery of the Armed Forces will be received from the USA. It was included by the White House in the previous package of defense support.
It follows from the message published by the German government that the chancellor and the US president intend to continue providing diplomatic, humanitarian, financial and defense support to Kyiv.
Despite the start of deliveries of light armored vehicles, the US authorities do not plan to transfer Abrams tanks to the Armed Forces. Allegedly, this is explained by the complexity of their maintenance. American tanks often break down. Their repair requires experienced personnel.
