Air defense triggered: Russia announces attack on Kursk NPP (photos, video)

According to journalists, the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly launched drones from the territory of Sumy region, flying at low altitude toward the nuclear facility.

Russia has reported an attempt to attack the Kursk nuclear power plant in the city of Kurchatov. This was reported on Thursday, April 27, by the Russian media outlet Mash.

According to the Russians, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on April 26. At the same time, it is reported that an alarm went off simultaneously throughout the Bryansk region.

Russian media claim that the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly launched unmanned aerial vehicles from the territory of Sumy region. The number of drones is not specified. It is only reported that they were flying at low altitude and were shot down by Russian air defense forces.

There were no reported casualties or damage.

According to eyewitnesses, it was “loud” that night. One of the Russians posted a video from an intercom, which shows the sound of flying objects.
