Prygozhyn announces withdrawal of Wagner mercenaries from Bakhmut (video)
According to Putin’s “chef,” the occupation force’s council of commanders decided to hold their positions and continue the attack on the city until May 10, 2023, in order to “meet Victory Day with the brilliance of Russian weapons.”
After the nighttime hysteria on May 5 against the backdrop of the corpses of Wagnerites killed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Bakhmut, who allegedly died due to lack of ammunition, the head of the PMC, Yevhen Prigozhin, began blackmailing the Russian Ministry of Defense to withdraw his mercenaries from the city. He posted the video in question online.
Unlike in the previous video, Prigozhin calmed down a bit, put on his uniform, helmet and body armor, lined up the still-living Wagnerians behind him and addressed the command of the Russian Armed Forces.
“I am officially addressing the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the Chief of the General Staff, the Minister of Defense and the people of Russia. I declare on behalf of the fighters of the Wagner PMC, on behalf of the Wagner PMC command, that on May 10, 2023, we are forced to transfer our positions in the village of Bakhmut to the units of the Ministry of Defense and withdraw the remnants of the Wagner PMC to rear camps to lick our wounds,” he said.
Prigozhin said that due to the lack of ammunition, he was withdrawing the private campaign soldiers because they were “doomed to a senseless death”.
According to him, the Wagner PMC’s council of commanders decided to hold their positions and continue the offensive on Bakhmut until May 10, 2023, “so that the Russians could celebrate the May 9, Victory Day, with the brilliance of Russian weapons.”
After the Wagner PMC “licks its wounds,” Prigozhin promises to bring it back to the front.
On the morning of May 5, the head of the Wagner PMC released a video of the Russian occupiers killed in Bakhmut and hysterically accused Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov of their deaths.
