Tesla will increase the speed of the Model S Plaid to 322 km/h due to new wheels worth $6000
Tesla has found a way to increase the speed of Model S electric cars in the Plaid modification. To do this, car owners will have to spend $6000.
Last year, enthusiasts were able to accelerate the Model S Plaid to 348 km/h. However, officially, the maximum speed of the electric vehicle was previously 262 km/h. Technically, the vehicle can go faster, and Tesla initially claimed that the three-engine version was capable of accelerating to 322 km/h.
And now, Elon Musk’s company has added a new set of wheels to the official website, which allows the Model S Plaid to reach a speed of 322 km/h. The wheels use Goodyear Supercar 3R tires. The size is 285/35 (front axle) and 305/30 (rear axle).
The cost of the kit is $6000. Anyone interested can now apply to purchase the new wheels. Bidding will begin in June 2023. Tesla is likely to unlock the ability to accelerate to 322 km/h via software if the customer confirms the purchase of new wheels.
