Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy combat control center of S-400 air defense missile system for the first time (photo)
For the first time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed the 55K6E combat control center. It is part of Russia’s advanced S-400 air defense missile system (SA-21 Growler according to NATO classification).
The destruction of two components of the S-400 air defense system has been documented. At the beginning of the year, a photo (below) of the liquidated 5P85SM2-01 launcher with 5V55R missiles was published. Now they have been joined by a combat control center.
The 55K6E was destroyed about two weeks ago in Kherson region by a GMLRS precision-guided missile launched from the HIMARS missile system. The export price of the entire S-400 system is $2.5 billion.
The 55K6E combat control center is designed for automated coordination of the combat operation of the anti-aircraft missile system. It collects information from its own, added, and interacting sources.
The radar complex 91N6E is used to provide 55K6E with radar information. According to official specifications, it can detect and track ballistic and aerodynamic targets, as well as identify the state affiliation of airborne objects.
