LRUSV unmanned attack boat shown in photos for the first time
The Marine Corps has released photos of the unmanned marine vessel LRUSV. It is positioned by the manufacturer as a long-range attack boat.
It is worth noting that this is the first time a photo of the drone has been shown to the public. It was designed by Metal Shark engineers. The boat is armed with barrage munitions. LRUSV launches Univision Hero-120 aircraft from a special launcher
The LRUSV belongs to a class of semi-automated vessels designed to carry out operations over long distances. The boat can be used as a carrier for attack drones capable of conducting reconnaissance for the purpose of further destroying targets.
The semi-autonomy of LRUSV is reduced to the ability to move to the destination in autopilot mode. First of all, the Marines will use the unmanned maritime platform as a means of surveillance and intelligence gathering.
The published photos show a launcher with eight Hero-120 attack drones. During the flight, they transmit images to the operator’s console. Drones can stay in the air for a long time. By the way, Hero-120 drones are also used by the Marines in tandem with JLTV tactical armored vehicles and LAV-M self-propelled mortars.
