Google Lens has learned to recognize skin diseases by searching for visual matches

Google has expanded the Google Lens tool to recognize skin conditions.

The app can detect skin diseases by analyzing moles or rashes. Uploading a photo through Google Lens will start a visual match search. The function will also work for other physical conditions that the user does not know how to describe in words.

In 2021, the company released a similar app for diagnosing skin, hair, and nail diseases. However, the service was not able to fully launch in the United States, where it was necessary to obtain the appropriate permit from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

However, the new Google Lens feature can help people decide whether to seek medical attention or over-the-counter treatment.
