Dutch company presents long-range electric bus

Driving for almost 600 km

The Dutch company Ebusco has presented its first production electric bus 3.0. This was reported by Elektrek.

Ebusco says that the 3.0, which has a composite body that is 27% lighter than a conventional body, is a “game changer” in the electric bus industry. According to the creators, this body extends the service life of the bus to 25 years.

The 3.0 is available in 12-meter and 18-meter lengths, and it was the 12-meter electric bus that was delivered to international public transport giant Transdev for operation in the city of Hilversum, the Netherlands.

The 12-meter model has a curb weight of 9,500 kg, so, according to the company, it consumes “extremely little energy.” The range is up to 575 km and the maximum power is 2 x 125 kW.

The 18M has a range of up to 700 km. Both buses use lithium-iron-phosphate batteries with a capacity of 105 ampere-hours and a voltage of 3.2 V. The batteries are integrated into the floor, which gives the bus a low center of gravity and excellent road handling.

Ebusco will be delivering its 3.0 buses in phases over the next few months. Supply chain issues have forced the company to wait for the final parts of 3.0 since the end of 2022. Now it can move to mass production, and in the “medium term” it plans to reach a production capacity of 3,000 buses per year.
