“De-occupation of Crimea”: footage of the damaged Chongar Bridge is shown online (video)
The Russians sent specialists from Rostov Oblast to Crimea to handle the crossing. The road through Chongar is most suitable for transporting equipment of the Russian Armed Forces to the occupied areas of Zaporizhzhia region, military experts believe.
Crimean Telegram channels showed footage of the damaged Chongar Bridge. According to eyewitnesses, the bridge was struck at night.
Representatives of the occupation administration urge residents of the occupied districts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions to choose the route through Armyansk to travel to the peninsula.
“Crimea is connected to Kherson region by three checkpoints: two near Armyansk and one near Dzhankoy. A malfunction of one of them cannot radically disrupt the transport logistics of the land transport corridor,” representatives of the occupation authorities say.
The road through Chonhar is the most suitable for the occupiers to transport military equipment to the occupied areas of Zaporizhzhia region, analysts of the Ukrainian channel Military analytics noted.
Chongar Bridge hit: the structure is damaged in two places
According to the Russian newspaper Izvestia, the Chongar Bridge was struck at approximately 5:00 am. The shell pierced the bridge in two places, and damaged the road surface of the backup bridge.
“Suspilne Krym” reports on the damage to two bridges in the Chongar area. The second strike was on the “old” bridge across the Sivash.
The head of the occupation administration of the Kherson region, collaborator Volodymyr Saldo, in a conversation with propagandists said that the restoration work would begin as soon as possible and would last several days.
“Specialists and builders have already been sent here from the Russian Federation, from Rostov region,” he emphasized.
According to Odesa JFO spokesman Serhiy Bratchuk, the bridge across Chongar has finally started to clear mines.
“Another version of the explosion on the bridge is that an earthquake occurred 60 kilometers from occupied Sevastopol. And we are talking about the beginning of the process of de-occupation of Crimea. And this is a reminder to the enemies that there is still an opportunity to leave,” he said.
As a reminder, the head of the occupation administration of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, spoke of a massive attack on the Chongar Bridge. And Saldo claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly used British Storm Shadow missiles.
In the evening of June 21, two strong explosions were heard in occupied Sevastopol. According to local residents, a large object fell into the water on the traverse of Peremohy Park.
