First video of combat use of Zuzana 2 howitzer by the Armed Forces of Ukraine published

Since 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been using Slovak self-propelled howitzers Zuzana 2. A video of the combat use of the artillery system was published by Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov.

What is known

The Ukrainian Defense Forces received eight Zuzana 2 howitzers from Slovakia. The latter was delivered in early 2023, after which Germany announced that it would provide 16 artillery pieces together with Norway and Denmark.

In January, Slovak Defense Minister Jarolsav Nad’ said that Ukraine had requested the purchase of 11 more howitzers. The cost of one is approximately $7.6 million.

There are practically no videos of the Ukrainian military using Zuzana 2, so the new video can be considered a rarity. Earlier, we saw a Slovak howitzer in the exercises. The new video shows combat work at the front.

Zuzana 2 is equipped with a 155 mm cannon and two machine guns (7.62 mm and 12.7 mm). The maximum range is 41 km. The chassis is a Tatra truck with an 8×8 wheel configuration. It has a range of over 700 km and can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h.
