It’s official: Denmark has started training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters

Ukrainian pilots began to learn how to use American F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters. This was reported by The Associated Press.

What is known

The training program started in Denmark. This was announced by the Acting Minister of Defense of Denmark Troels Lund. The training is expected to last from 6 to 8 months.

By the way, Denmark may also become one of the first countries to provide Ukraine with F-16s. The Royal Danish Air Force has 43 Fighting Falcon fighter jets in service, 30 of which are still in active use. But now they are being replaced by fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighters.

For those who don’t know

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multifunctional light fighter. It was developed by the American company General Dynamics. Due to its versatility and low cost, the F-16 is a success in the international market. It is in service with 24 countries. The F-16 is the most mass-produced fourth-generation fighter jet. As of 2009, more than 4,400 vehicles were built, and in 2016, more than 2,500 were in operation.
