Ukrainian engineers modify legendary R-18 bomber drone
Ukrainian specialists managed to improve the Ukrainian R-18 drones. A representative of FRDM said this in an interview with Militarnyi.
The Ukrainian army has been operating R-18 drones for five years. They have proven themselves at the front. The drone’s developers are constantly working to improve it. In particular, they made design changes to the ammunition drop system, changed frequencies to protect the drone from enemy electronic warfare, improved signal quality, and more.
The UAV-bomber is supplied in a standard package (two aircraft, spare parts for them, and a ground control station). The R-18’s design makes it possible to replace damaged elements on the battlefield. It takes no more than two minutes to equip a drone with new ammunition.
The developer of the R-18 is FRDM. Earlier, it introduced a new R-34 attack drone. The successor to the R-18 was larger and more powerful.
