100% result. Ukrainian air defense forces shoot down eight drones and three cruise missiles overnight
Ukraine’s air defense forces destroyed eight drones and three cruise missiles on the night of July 2, the Air Force Command reports.
“Eight Shaheds were launched from the southeast, and Kalibr from the Black Sea. The Air Force’s air defense was operating in different regions of Ukraine – in the areas of responsibility of the South, East and Center air commands. All air targets were destroyed,” the military said.
Some debris fell on private homes near Kyiv, injuring one person.
- On the night of July 2, Russia attacked Kyiv with drones for the first time in 12 days. According to preliminary data, these are Iranian Shahed drones, said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. All targets in the airspace around Kyiv were detected and destroyed by air defense forces and means.
- The head of the Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, said that Iran is handing over Shaheds to Russia in batches of 50-70 every two to three weeks.
