Samsung Galaxy A53 is the first Galaxy A smartphone to receive Google’s July security update

Yesterday, Samsung released the July 2023 security update for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23. Today, the company has expanded the availability of a new security update for Galaxy A53 5G.

The new update is currently being rolled out in some Latin American countries and may soon be extended to other regions.

What’s new?

The latest software update for Galaxy A53 5G has firmware version A536EXXS7CWF6. It is already available for download in Bolivia and Panama, and is expected to be available soon in other Latin American countries, and then worldwide. Usually, the update is rolled out gradually to different countries and it can take several weeks from the first announcement of its availability in some countries. The update includes a July 2023 security patch that fixes various security flaws found in previous versions of One UI on Galaxy phones and tablets. The update does not add any new features or performance improvements.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G in early 2022 with Android 12 on board. At the end of 2022, the device received the Android 13 update, and earlier this year, One UI 5.1. The One UI 6 update based on Android 14 is scheduled for the end of this year.
