The French company Ubisoft owns a huge number of popular franchises and dozens of studios with more than 20 thousand employees. Still, Ubisoft is not a leader in terms of capitalization among European gaming companies.
What is known
Forbes journalist Paul Tassi analyzed gaming companies and concluded that the most expensive developer in Europe is the Polish company CD Projekt (about 1200 employees).
Currently, the Poles own only two franchises, The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, but their capitalization exceeds $3.5 billion, while Ubisoft with its super-popular franchises Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia, Far Cry, Rainbow Six, The Crew, The Division, Anno 1800, Just Dance, and many others are estimated at only $3 billion.
It is difficult to draw any conclusions from this, but according to the latest information, Ubisoft is considering mergers with other companies, while CD Projekt insists on its independence.
