Belgorod region under fire: power lines destroyed, villages without electricity

According to Russian media reports, five settlements of Demydivka, Repyakhivka, Starolis, Prylissia and Hafivka came under mortar fire. The electricity went out in the latter.

Several settlements in Belgorod region came under fire on July 12. Russian publics write that five settlements of the Krasnoyaruzsky district – Demydivka, Repyakhivka, Starolis, Grafivka and the village of Prylissia – were hit at once.

The Russian media traditionally blame the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the shelling.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched a massive mortar attack on the Belgorod region. According to our information, five settlements of the Krasnoyaruzsky district are under attack at once,” the Mash Telegram channel writes.

It is reported that as a result of the shelling, one of the shells hit a power line, which left the village of Hrafivka without electricity.

It should be noted that all the settlements are borderline and are located along the border with Sumy region of Ukraine.

Local channels also report shelling.

“Approximately 20 minutes ago, residents of Grafivka village in Krasnoyaruzsky district received SMS messages from the Russian Emergency Service about the shelling,” the statement reads.

The region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, has not yet commented on the situation in these settlements. Also, at the time of publication, there are no comments from other officials of the Russian Federation. However, according to Gladkov, the Krasnoyaruzsky district was struck on July 11.

“In the Krasnoyaruzky district, the outskirts of Starosiliya village came under fire. The enemy fired 3 artillery shells. There were no casualties or damage,” the governor wrote on Telegram.
