Mesh network has become a reality: HIMERA radio stations have a new interesting option

Now every HIMERA radio can work as a repeater

The team of Ukrainian developers who develop and manufacture communication systems as part of the HIMERA project has introduced new functionality for its radio stations, as the experts shared on their Facebook page.

“We are sharing with you the news that the HIMERA team has come a long way to publish. We are pleased to announce that HIMERA now has a super important feature – MESH,” the developers say.

HIMERA radios can now create a digital MANET-like network that supports relaying and data transmission even when there is no direct connection between points.

At the same time, all stations that are networked can continue to operate with pseudo-random frequency hopping (PRFH) and encryption as they do in direct mode.

As part of the HIMERA project, an initiative team of Ukrainian developers is working to improve and produce their own portable radios designed to provide communication at the platoon-section level.

The HIMERA manufacturers position these communications devices as an affordable and reliable solution that can operate in the conditions of active operation of enemy EW and REW assets and provide communication within the unit at distances of 2-3 km.
