Not only Starlink: Sweden provides Ukraine with Satcube satellite communication terminals
The Swedish company Satcube has begun to provide Ukraine with its own satellite communication terminals. They can be used to provide Internet access to users in the de-occupied territories. However, the manufacturer has no objection to its equipment being used by the military.
This transfer of equipment can be called an international project. Ukraine drew attention to Satcube equipment after several humanitarian organizations and journalists used it to work in our country. Satcube terminals provide Internet connectivity through a network of geostationary satellites from the American company Intelsat. It was Intelsat that ordered the supply of terminals to Ukraine for about SEK 70 million (€5.97 million). The purchase is paid for by Germany. Initially, it is planned to transfer about 100 portable terminals worth about $65 thousand to Ukraine. each.
Satcube terminals provide broadband Internet access via a network of satellites located at an altitude of 35 thousand meters. km. The data transfer rate is up to 70 Mbps, and the delay can be up to 1 second. The terminal weighs about 8 kg.
