Ukrainian Armed Forces liberate Urozhayne in Donetsk region – Ministry of Defense

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the de-occupation of Urozhayne village in Donetsk region.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have de-occupied the village of Urozhayne in Volnovakha district of Donetsk region, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said on Wednesday morning, August 16.

“Urozhayne has been liberated. Our defenders are consolidating their positions. Offensive actions continue,” she wrote on Telegram.

The same information was disseminated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: “In the course of offensive operations, the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces have captured the village of Urozhayne, are consolidating on the achieved lines, inflicting artillery fire on the identified enemy targets, and carrying out counter-battery measures.”

The General Staff added that the Ukrainian military continues offensive operations in the Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdiansk directions. As Malyar reported earlier, last week the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated three square kilometers of territory in the Bakhmut sector. In total, 40 square meters have been de-occupied since the beginning of the counteroffensive. km.
