Ukrainian Armed Forces leave Russian positions near Bakhmut without heavy artillery and manpower (video)

The Russian occupiers tried to hide the equipment in a forest belt, but it was still spotted by Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance.

In the area of Bakhmut in Donetsk region, Russian invaders lost heavy artillery at one of their positions – a Pion self-propelled artillery system and a Tulip self-propelled mortar. This was reported by the soldiers of the 3rd Regiment of the Ukrainian Special Forces, who are in the Bakhmut sector.

“During the reconnaissance of the area, our operators discovered a 2C4 Tulip 240-mm self-propelled mortar and a 2C7 Peon 203-mm self-propelled gun. They were firing at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the statement said.

It is noted that the occupiers hid enemy equipment in the landing. UAV operators who spotted enemy vehicles during aerial reconnaissance passed the coordinates to their “colleagues” from the artillery unit. They worked on the targets and turned the Russian self-propelled artillery and mortar into scrap metal.

“According to intelligence, the enemy’s equipment was destroyed as a result of the artillery attack, and the enemy suffered losses in killed and wounded,” the soldiers said.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to move in the area of Robotyno, Zaporizhzhia region. However, the Russian Armed Forces mine the retreat areas, which slows down the counterattack of the Ukrainian defenders. Fighting continues near Sinkivka and in Serebryany forestry.

On August 20, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to advance in the Berdiansk and Melitopol directions and had the initiative in the area of Bakhmut.
