“Night raid of Ukrainian Cossacks on the camp of the Russian Armed Forces in Crimea”: the DIU showed a video of a special operation
While performing the mission, Ukrainian defenders clashed with units of the Russian Armed Forces. As a result, the enemy suffered personnel losses and destroyed enemy equipment.
In the morning of August 24, the Crimea near Cape Tarkhankut was noisy due to a battle involving ships, aviation and Ukrainian special forces. The GUR soldiers made a nightmare for the Russians and then returned to the base. This was reported by the InformNapalm intelligence community.
“Ukrainian Cossacks on seagulls made a night raid on the invaders’ camp. On the night of August 24, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine with the support of the Navy conducted an operation in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Special forces landed on the shore near the settlements of Olenivka and Mayak. While performing the task, Ukrainian defenders clashed with the occupiers’ units. As a result, the enemy suffered losses among its personnel and destroyed enemy equipment,” the statement said.
Special forces also installed a Ukrainian flag in the occupied Crimea.
It is noted that the special operation was not carried out by the Artan unit, as previously reported, but by another special unit of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. Ukrainian intelligence released a video of a nighttime special operation.
“All goals and objectives were achieved. At the end of the special operation, Ukrainian defenders left the scene without losses,” the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine noted.
Later, representatives of the GUR told RBC Ukraine that the Ukrainian military had already returned from the special operation, having fulfilled their tasks, and that the operation itself “had the character of a raid.”
Meanwhile, Russian telegram channels spread information that in the occupied Crimea, unidentified persons on rubber boats allegedly fired from the shore at a campsite with tourists in Olenivka. Baza reported that there were 10 people in two boats, while another Russian media outlet, SHOT, said there were 4 boats with “saboteurs”.
As a reminder, the DIU soldiers landed in the occupied Crimea. The events unfolded in the area of the village of Mayak around 5 am. Local residents reported hearing explosions.
Earlier it was reported that on August 23, 2023, an explosion occurred near the village of Olenivka on Cape Tarkhankut, destroying the Russian long- and medium-range S-400 Triumph air defense missile system.
