Russian Armed Forces launched missiles at Ukraine, but air defense forces intercepted them in the sky: details of the attack

According to the Air Force, a total of 4 cruise missiles were intercepted in Ukrainian airspace. The enemy used 5 aircraft for the attack, and it was without consequences.

On the night of August 27, the Russian occupiers once again resorted to shelling peaceful Ukrainian cities. Air defense systems have demonstrated effective results. This was reported by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the Ukrainian military intercepted four air targets at once as a result of close work. We are talking about cruise missiles of the following types: X-101, X-55 and X-555.

They were launched by representatives of the Russian Armed Forces from the airspace of the Russian Federation near Engels, using 5 aircraft.

“The Air Force destroyed four X-101/X-55/X-555 cruise missiles in the central and northern regions. The rest of the air targets are probably false, there was no information about hits,” the Air Force continued.

Night attack on peaceful cities: details

Initially, there were reports that after the alert was announced, the air defense system started working in Cherkasy region. This information was confirmed by the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration (RMA), Ihor Taburets, on his Telegram channel.

“Warning. There is an increased danger. Air defense is operating in the region,” the head of the region wrote.

Air defense was also operating in the capital area, as reported by representatives of the Kyiv City Military Administration on Telegram. The head of the department, Serhiy Popko, noted that all enemy targets were destroyed by air defense forces and means.

Debris from the downed missile fell on 10 private houses in Kyiv region. As a result, two people were injured and treated on the spot. One house has significant damage, while others have broken windows, doors, roofs, and chopped facades. Two cars and a hangar for storing agricultural machinery were also damaged.
