Car assembly plants that use the same system were unable to process orders for car parts on the morning of August 29. At the same time, Miyata and Daihatsu successfully fulfilled their orders before the outage, but their operations will also be suspended in the afternoon.
The issue was investigated, but the problem was unlikely to have been caused by a cyberattack, the automaker said.
Toyota reportedly closed all its plants in the country in March last year after its domestic supplier Kojima Industries Corp. suffered a system failure caused by a cyberattack.
