He wanted to defend Ukrainian skies on F-16: today we say goodbye to the pilot with the call sign “Juice” (photos, video)

In the capital, in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the UGCC, a farewell ceremony is held for the pilot of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade, Andriy Pilshchikov, known by his call sign “Dzhus.”

Andriy’s friends, colleagues, and family gathered for the ceremony, which brought together about 300 people. The funeral ceremony began.

One of the deceased’s colleagues, reserve lieutenant colonel Oleksandr Dovhal, told TSN.ua that Andriy received the call sign “Juice” because he never drank alcohol, only juice. According to him, Jus was known for “knocking out” F16s and always dreamed of fighting bureaucracy.

As a reminder, Andriy Pilshchikov, along with two other pilots, was killed on August 25 in Zhytomyr region as a result of a collision between two L-39 trainer aircraft. He was a military pilot of a MiG-29 fighter jet and has flown dozens of combat missions since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia. According to the preliminary qualification of the State Bureau of Investigation, the cause of the air tragedy could have been a violation of flight rules or preparation for them.
