Protects against drones at 200 meters

The equipment has been successfully tested and the first copies have already been delivered to the Ukrainian military in the combat zone.

Ukraine has created an anti-drone backpack for infantry capable of suppressing enemy kamikaze drones. Yaroslav Filimonov, chief operating officer of Kvertus, a Ukrainian developer and manufacturer of drone detection and protection equipment, wrote about this on his LinkedIn page on Tuesday, September 5.

“Responding to a request from the military, the team at Kvertus, a manufacturer of anti-drone systems, has developed a backpack-style solution against FPV drones for infantry,” Filimonov wrote.

According to him, the device can cover a group of soldiers from enemy kamikaze drones within a radius of 200 meters. The battery of the Kvertus backpack lasts for two hours of continuous operation. The COO of the manufacturer added that the equipment has been successfully tested and the first copies of the equipment have already been delivered to the military in the combat zone.

Yaroslav Filimonov also posted photos of the new electronic warfare system. The device fits into a standard backpack that can be worn on the back. Only two antennas protrude outward, which do not interfere with a person’s movement.

The backpack is also ventilated to protect the device from overheating, which can disable the Kvertus anti-drone system.

In early August, it became known that Ukrainians had developed an electronic warfare backpack that would protect soldiers from drones. The electronic warfare system with collinear antennas operates for three to six hours and suppresses enemy drones in several ranges at once.
